Content Strategy for food bloggers
SEO is old news—a custom content plan is your recipe for real food blog growth.
Plan & create
We craft a custom content roadmap so you can create recipes that drive real traffic—no guesswork or forced keywords. Plus, our content, traffic, internal linking, UX audits and more are all included at no extra cost.
Teach & coach
We guide and teach you step-by-step on people-first content writing methods, and more, to help you better satisfy searcher intent and uncover what searchers are actually looking for in your content.
Polish & maintain
Our WordPress pros are always watching to proactively spot and fix any issues to reduce the impact they could have to your traffic. We step in to keep your site neat, tidy, and glitch-free, so nothing stops your content from reaching the top.
Grow, together
When your content is truly helpful, Google notices. That means more organic traffic, more engagement, and a growing audience.
When you win, we win.
So, what about technical stuff?
Yes, there’s still some behind-the-scenes work to keep your blog running smoothly, but the days of hyper-technical SEO are long gone. Google’s new semantic search engine cuts through messy HTML to find and serve the most helpful content. While we’ll handle all the technical stuff—like site speed, clean coding, Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, plugin conflicts, and more—it’s the planning and creation of genuinely valuable posts that make the biggest difference.

Frequently asked questions
How do your services for food bloggers work?
Our services include ongoing technical SEO support, allowing you to focus on content creation without getting bogged down in technical weeds. We also teach and coach our members through our content strategy framework. This framework emphasizes creating people-first content and teaches how to avoid over-optimizing content for search-engine-first, in addition to coaching on traffic diversification.
When you sign up for our services, we begin by conducting thorough onboarding audits, which we then use to create a roadmap outlining tasks and a timeline for their completion. Our goal is to achieve a significant improvement in organic search traffic within the proposed timeframe.
How does your quick task requests work?
Quick task requests are defined as a task that takes our team less than 30 minutes to resolve. This could be anything that you don’t have time to do that you would like us to do for you. Consider us your personal food blog maid service. 🙂
Each month, you are given a total number of requests that you can use at your discretion. Each plan has a different number of requests that are allowed.
It’s important to note, our support is proactive as much as it is reactive. This means our team knows your site and is constantly monitoring it rather than waiting for you to catch an issue and then notify us. Many times, we observe an issue and notify you that a quick task request will be used to fix it, and you decide if we do it or wait.
Examples of quick task requests you can make:
- Recipe Writeups (This is our most popular request on a monthly basis. For more information, read the FAQ regarding how the requests for the recipe writeups work.)
- Keyword research and strategy questions (“What keyword should I focus on this recipe I am writing?”)
- Editorial planning and content strategy advice (“What should I post next? What’s the hot trend right now?”)
- Internal linking optimization suggestions
- Post and recipe title optimization
- Analysis of traffic drops for specific posts
- Custom block pattern development
- Plugin advice (“Should I install this plugin?”)
- Theme customization (padding, colors, fonts, widgets)
- Recipe card customization (e.g., changing buttons, adding features, customizing design)
- Mobile display optimization (removing unnecessary elements)
- Competitive analysis/”Peeking behind the curtain” (“How did this blog do this?“)
- Publishing troubleshooting (“Why isn’t my new post showing on the homepage?“)
- Industry trend evaluation (“I heard this SEO tip—should I implement it?“)
- Recipe card plugin migration assistance
This is not the complete list, so don’t worry. If it’s something you need, just ask. We are sure we can handle it.
How do requests for recipe writeups work?
We will do 15 Recipe Writeups per month for members on the Simmer plan and 30 writeups per month for members on the Rolling Boil plan. Please choose your plan wisely based on how much content you create every month and how quickly you need the writeups completed.
As an example, if you’re a very active creator and you’re creating, reshooting, or updating one post per day every week, then you will need the Rolling Boil plan to accomodate your frequency.
What is Deep Work?
Deep Work is custom work that we do outside of quick task requests. These are projects that require more than 30 minutes for our team to complete. Please note: some requests related to website design and UX might be outside of the Deep Work scope and will need to be scoped out separately and paid for as separate work. All website design will have a quoted completion date and could span several days, weeks, or months.
Examples of Deep Work in scope:
- Email newsletter projects
- Post-content clean-up projects
- Category organization clean-up
- Information architecture overhauls
- Custom, dynamic recipe search functionalities
- Recipe indexes
Example of out-of-scope work:
- Large-scale website design changes/improvements
I already have someone that handles all of my WordPress stuff. Can I still use your service?
Sure! We are happy to work alongside them. Unfortunately, this won’t decrease your membership cost. And we do require that our team handles any of the technical stuff we need to complete. This is to ensure that you see results in the timeline of the roadmaps.
Another reason being the scope of their service isn’t always clear or as comprehensive as ours. Some are better than others though! With a typical managed hosting provider or support team, you’re just one of many customers receiving standardized support—a sheep among the flock—and they aren’t giving you any proactive advice to improve things.
In contrast, we get to know you, your food blog, your theme, your custom design elements, and—most importantly—your timing. This allows us to anticipate and address your specific needs for growth.
Another advantage is our hands-on approach. We understand the intricacies of plugin and theme updates and potential failures. For example, we may be aware of an issue with a new version of a plugin your site uses because we have observed issues on other sites. We can remain in contact with the plugin or theme developer to keep track of a bug fix and when it could be released. In those cases, we strategically defer certain updates.
Can you redesign my food blog or help me switch themes?
Absolutely! We offer top-notch custom website design, from wireframes and mockups to development and launch. Our team consists of Google-certified UX designers who specialize in websites. You can rest easy knowing you’re working with a team that stays current with the latest UX and design trends.
In addition to websites, we also offer full branding services where our team can create you a completely custom logo with custom illustrations/icons, patterns, and marketing templates to make your brand entirely unique.
All Foodie HQ members get a 25% discount off our retail prices for these services.
Do you offer a package for only SEO?
Unfortunately, no. We believe in content strategy first, SEO second. They go hand-in-hand, so our team is an expert in both. In order to ensure that you see results in our roadmap timeline, we require our team to handle all the technical stuff.
If you want to do some of the technical stuff yourself, we are happy to teach you how to handle some of it on your own.
Do you require a contract?
No. We do not require a contract. You can cancel anytime. We only request you stay for the requested time of six months so that you have time to see real, measurable results. Remember, SEO growth is not known for speed. It’s kinda like planting a tree—you won’t get shade tomorrow, but give it time, and you’ll have the best spot in the park.
Do my unused requests roll over?
During our strategy planning meetings, we create a roadmap to make the most effective use of your requests. If unexpected technical support needs arise, we prioritize them accordingly. High-priority tasks take precedence and will replace lower-priority items in the roadmap, which we’ll reschedule for a later date.
You’re unlikely to have unused requests since our team constantly seeks ways to improve your site. There’s no need to make requests to use up your allocation.
Only Deep Work requests can roll over when projects overlap. When a Deep Work project overlaps with a new month, you’ll retain your next round of requests. Thanks to our comprehensive strategy planning and roadmap, you’ll likely use all your requests effectively.
